What did they really say? Listening Deeply to Children's Voices. (1)
Thu, Sep 08

Consulting with children & listening to their voices is very different from asking 'what would you like out of the cupboard?' This session will explore the concepts of consulting with children and listening with intent and analysing what children are saying. This will support critical reflection.

About the Event
'Listening to children's voices' has been a hot topic for a while now, but what does it really mean and how do you actually do it?Â
This session will explore the concepts of consulting with children, deeply listening with your whole body and identifying opportunities to hear what children are saying without asking any questions.Â
Documenting children's voices is a practice that takes some intention and consideration. Do we fix their sentences to make sense of them? Do we correct them so when parents read what they said it reads well? HOW on earth do we record or document the voices of non-verbal children?Â
We will unpack all these challenges and I will share some real examples with you.Â
Please also feel free to bring some examples of the work you have been doing AND your willingness to learn and be open-minded.Â
Can't wait to see you and laugh with you! My sessions always have lots of fun and laughter.Â
